Random Spring Pictures

Monday, 5 April 2010 23:01 CDT

Happy April! Here are some recent and rather random pictures from our household.

Last fall we planted some flowers at our new house, and this past Thursday we saw our first daffodil come up! I'm so proud of us.

Lately, Zooey has started doing a thing where she has to examine and test the properties of all the objects around her. Step 1: Grab the object and/or substance and smoosh it around between the fingers....

Step 2: Put substance and/or object in the mouth.

Here's another example of Zooey's new world investigation technique. Yes, she's tasting a rock.

I came upon this lovely sight shortly after getting Zooey up this morning. I went to the kitchen to get some juice, and when I came back, more than half this box of Kleenexes had been emptied.

And lastly, here's a picture of Zooey being adorably sleepy.

I love the way children find ways of learning the worlds around them...something we as adults often neglect, I'm sure. They just dig right into it with little to no hesitation...just amazing learning sponges. The pictures are adorable...I quite like the Kleenex one having been through that exact situation a few times myself. Oh, and maybe that rock had something important to say...that picture is absolutely fantastic.

If my memory serves, Karen, you were the kid who sucked on rocks and spit them out.... There's no escaping this for Zooey!

Wow Susan, you have a really good memory! That was in fact me with the rocks. Zooey is doomed! And thanks, Thomas. The rock was probably sharing its life story, and I had to go and interrupt them with the camera.
